Amazon KDP Income Report February 2024

My KDP earnings has slide further this month as compared to January 2024. It’s much lower than last month’s income report. It is even a lot lower compared to last year’s February as you’ll see below.

This past February was rather disappointing, as it turned out to be my worst performing month since I started low content publishing on KDP in July 2019. I did not expect this month’s earnings to be this low. The past Februarys have been good as I sold a good number of Valentine-themed books. But this month, I did not sell many Valentine’s books, which explains my low earnings.

It’s time to ramp things up! My action plan going forward:

  • Get my book in the children’s niche I’ve been working on in the past year published this year. It is 65% completed.
  • Get more books published in 2024.
  • Experiment with Amazon advertising for newly published books.
  • Build a brand and email list for my books in a specific niche.
  • Promote my books via socials, like Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.

How Many Books Will I Publish in 2024?

I am aiming to create and publish 5 books this year, which means 1 book in 1.5 months for the rest of the year. A quarter of the year has come and gone. It’s the start of April (how time flies) as I am writing this!

February 2024 Income Report – With No Ads

Let’s move on to the income report for February 2024.

This month’s KDP earnings is down 24.7% from January’s income! It’s the lowest it has ever been since I started publishing low content books.

Highest day: $20.72

Lowest day: $0

90.3% comes from the US marketplace, which makes up the bulk of my earnings. 4.3% comes from the Canada marketplace, 3.1% from UK, 1.1% from Germany, and 0.9% from Australia.

There’s a spike on 1 day – 6 Feb, which I’ll talk about in a bit. Other than the spike, there were ups and downs which is normal.

My Top-Selling Books

36 books out of the 1,141 total books I have published contributed to this month’s income. That works out to be 3.16% of my total books sold this month.

My #1 best-seller for this month is a book in the children’s niche. It has been my long-standing top-runner ever since I published it in April 2020. It brought in 20.5% of my total KDP earnings this month.

The #2 best-selling book is a specific type of tracker in the women’s niche. It has climbed up 1 spot fom last month to claim the second place this month. It brought in 11.9% of the total income this month. This was published in October 2020 and it occasionally tops the chart.

As February is Valentine’s month, my 3rd best-seller book did not want to get left behind! It’s none other than a notebook in this niche. It has performed well for me every February, and it brought in 11.2% of my total KDP income this month.

Any surprises this month?

Firstly, my other #2 best-selling book in a specific children’s niche for a long time, has dropped out of the chart.

Secondly, one planner in a career niche sold in bulk on February 6 and accounted for the spike that day. This planner does sell for me occasionally since it was published in August 2020.
